At Waverley Public School, we see the benefit of nurturing the whole child, and not just the academic mind. Staff proudly offer a variety of athletic programs for our students to participate in. Taking part in organized sports can provide valuable life lessons, important skills, and develop character traits like discipline, respect, and resilience. These are transferable ideas that benefit students on and off the court.
Students can participate in a variety of intermural sport activities throughout the school year including:
Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball, Ultimate Frisbee, European Handball, and Cross Country Running.
Students interested in playing competitively for the school team can try out for a variety of different positions throughout the year. Students that show a willingness to learn new skills, work as a team, and are committed to attending practices and games will have a better chance of making the team. Some of the sports our school competes in competitively include:
Competitive sports have been put on hold due to Covid Restrictions until further notice.
Students can also participate in special Teachers vs Students sporting events throughout the year. These competitions build school camaraderie and spirit as the crowd cheers on!
